BRITISH COUNCIL POETRY COMPETITION (2013)

In collaboration with the British Council, Delhi a poetry competition for people with disabilities was organized.

Everyone expressed their emotions and creativity through poetry and recited the poem in front of everyone.

This event helped them to boost their confidence and allowed them to showcase their talents as well as uplift their competitive spirit amongst them.

CHANGING MINDSET WORKSHOP- BRITISH COUNCIL AND WORLD VISION CNI BHAWAN (2014)

  • This workshop helped disabled individuals to convert their negative attitudes into positive ones.
  • Through these initiatives, we have observed that some individuals have managed to come out of their depression, thus helping them become more socially active.
  • Not only this but also have started on their journey towards becoming economically independent.

EXHIBITION OF HANDMADE PRODUCTS MADE BY PWDS (2015, 2016, 2022)

As a disabled people organization (DPOs), one of our main objectives has always been to promote employment for people with disabilities. Whether by providing them with jobs in the service sector or by promoting their independent entrepreneurial start-ups.

Taking this forward, we have been putting up stalls at various governmental and private platforms.

THEATRE WORKSHOPS (2016 AND 2019)

We conducted these workshops in collaboration with the prestigious Barry John Acting Studio and with independent directors.

Objectives

1 Visibility; bringing out PWDs in the society through various social events

2 To provide counselling/consultancy/services for setting up micro enterprises for people with disabilities.

3 Sensitization: preparing a group of PWDs to conduct sensitizing workshops for Governmental, Non-Governmental, Corporate, Media, Health, and Educational Institutions.

4 Focusing not only on job seeking but also on job creation by promoting entrepreneurial skills and linking them to Governmental & Non-Governmental schemes.

PROJECT SAMARTHYA (2020)​

Mobility and People has always been in its primary focus for Bridgestone as core philosophy. Creating necessary infrastructure, supporting required accessories and doing people friendly initiatives are always in target to achieve quality of life for all. This project intends to make the people with disability self-reliant through providing required equipment which can help in their better mobility. Thus it will help these section of our society to boost their confidence and achieve their targets through avoiding hindrances.

Project Pragiti (2021)

Yes! We Can along with Imperial Auto Industries Limited has started a skill development program for women with disabilities to promote group employment opportunities by imparting baking and confectionary skills, to economically empower at least 30 women with disabilities and 10 non-disabled woman from economically weaker section in 4 quarterly batches.

We are conducting classes of the above said skills on a tri-weekly basis. Each class consists of first providing theoretical knowledge of the subject and then giving a practical demonstration.
